Blissful Winter

   Many people associate the color blue with the cold. Freezing weather, however, can also pave the way for many interesting activities that take advantage of these temperatures, like snow. Thinking about the duality between the harshness of wintery weather and the myriad activities that it makes possible at the same time formed the basis of my inspiration to create these earrings. By decorating them with blue flowers, I was thinking about the power of mother nature. I found it interesting how sometimes things that initially feel uninviting (like subzero temperatures) also allow for activities that would otherwise be impossible (like playing in the snow). This piece symbolizes the importance of how seeing things from a different perspective can sometimes make a world of difference.
