Hot'n'Cold

   The world is full of yin and yang, almost all facets of our daily lives complement one another. The day and the night, the light and the dark, the internal and the external, the hot and the cold, et cetera. For some, the day is better than the night, for others still, the winter beats the summer. The same can be said about the likings of cooler and warmer climates. Mother nature has a way of creating forces that always end up complementing one another — having only one is not usually enough.

   This duality of life motivated the creation of these earrings. In particular, the orange and blue flowers represent the dueling nature between fire and water, respectively. If our company name (Aqua Flower) was any indication, however, I still believe every single person has his or her strong suit, and for me, that preference will always side with the aqua blue color. Striving to achieve this blissful harmony embodied by the famous yin and yang is an honorable ideal worth striving for, but I believe that part of what makes up our human nature is that we are never going to be able to reach that state of perfect harmony and that is part of what makes up everyone's individuality.
